This page describes how content on Bonded Trades is produced, checked and maintained, and what separates it from the commercial side of the site.
How a page is produced
- Research. Figures and requirements are gathered from the state licensing board and, where needed, the underlying statute. See How We Research.
- Drafting. The page is written against those verified figures, with each one traceable to its source.
- Review. Licensing content is checked against the board. Insurance content is additionally reviewed by a licensed property and casualty insurance agent in North Carolina, who is named on the page.
- Dating. The page is published with a verification date showing when its figures were last checked.
- Maintenance. Every state page is re-verified at least annually, and sooner if rules change.
Use of AI tools
We use AI tools in research and drafting. We are telling you this because you should know how anything you rely on was made.
What that does not mean: no page is published as a model produced it. Every figure is verified by a person against the issuing board, insurance content is reviewed by a licensed agent, and the verification date on each page records a human check rather than a generation date.
Our position is that the tool used to draft a sentence matters far less than whether the sentence is true and whether someone competent checked it. We hold ourselves to the second test.
Independence from revenue
Some pages contain affiliate links and some carry advertising. Neither influences what we publish.
Specifically:
- No provider can pay for a mention, a placement, a rating or a recommendation.
- We do not accept sponsored posts, paid guest articles, or paid links.
- We are not paid more for steering you to one option over another on any page where options are compared.
- Where a state does not require something we could earn a commission on, we say so plainly.
The commercial arrangements are set out in full on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
How we choose what to recommend
Where we point to a provider, we do so because it serves the trade and situation the page is about. We are explicit about the basis: we compare published information, coverage types and requirements. We do not test insurance policies and we do not claim to. Where our knowledge of an option is limited to what the provider publishes, the page says so.
Corrections and updates
Errors are corrected on the page, and the verification date is updated when they are. We do not remove pages to hide mistakes, and we do not quietly edit while leaving an old date in place.

Limits
Nothing on this site is legal, financial or insurance advice. We are not affiliated with any state licensing board, and no board has reviewed or endorsed our content. Licensing rules change and the board is always the authority.
