Bonded Trades earns money from affiliate commissions and advertising. This page explains exactly how, in plain terms.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then request a quote, buy a course, or make a purchase, we may be paid a fee by that company.
This never costs you more. You pay the same price, or get the same quote, as you would going direct.
We currently participate in affiliate programmes covering:
- Business insurance — including Simply Business, via the CJ Affiliate network
- Contractor exam preparation — course and study material providers
This list changes as the site grows, and we update this page when it does.
Where you will see disclosure
A disclosure page on its own is not enough, and the FTC agrees. So we also disclose in context: where a page contains affiliate links, that is stated on the page itself, near the links rather than buried at the bottom.
If you ever find an affiliate link on this site that is not disclosed near where it appears, that is a mistake. Tell us at bondedtrades@gmail.com and we will fix it.
Advertising
Some pages carry display advertising served by third-party networks. We do not select those advertisers individually, and their appearance on a page is not an endorsement by us.
What this money does not buy
This is the part that matters, so we will be specific.
- No company can pay to be recommended, rated higher, or included in a comparison.
- We are not paid more for sending you to one provider rather than another on a page where we compare them.
- We do not soften or omit an inconvenient fact because it costs us a commission. Where a state requires no insurance to get licensed, we say so — even though saying so loses us the click.
- We do not accept payment for editorial coverage of any kind.
A reference site that bends its answers toward its own revenue is worth nothing to a contractor who can check. Our commercial interest is in being right often enough that you come back.
A note on insurance
We are not an insurance broker or agency. We do not sell policies, produce quotes, or handle your details. When you follow a link to an insurance provider you are dealing with that company directly, under their terms and privacy policy.
