Last updated 7 September 2026. This policy describes what Bonded Trades actually does today. We update it before our practices change, not after.
The short version
We do not set cookies. We do not run analytics. We have no comment forms, no accounts and no newsletter. There is a single contact form, on our Contact page, and it emails your message to us without storing it on this website.
What that leaves is small and worth being precise about: our web host keeps standard server logs, and if you write to us — through the form or by email — we have your message.
Who we are
Bonded Trades publishes state-by-state licensing, bonding and insurance guides for people working in the trades in the United States. Our address is https://bondedtrades.com, and you can reach us at bondedtrades@gmail.com.
What we collect automatically
Like effectively every website, ours runs on a web server that keeps access logs. A typical entry records your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, your browser’s user-agent string, and the page that referred you.
We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure — diagnosing errors, identifying abusive traffic, and understanding server load. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with anything else.
These logs are generated and retained by our hosting provider under their own retention schedule, typically a short rolling window.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies on your browser.
WordPress, which the site runs on, sets cookies only for logged-in administrators and for people leaving comments. Comments are disabled site-wide and public registration is turned off, so neither applies to a visitor.
Because we set no cookies and run no trackers, there is no cookie banner and nothing here for you to consent to or refuse.
Analytics
We do not currently run Google Analytics or any other visitor-analytics service. No third-party script of any kind loads on these pages.
We may add privacy-respecting analytics later. If we do, we will update this page and say plainly what is collected before it starts.
Advertising
We do not currently serve advertising, and no advertising or ad-measurement cookies are set.
We intend to carry display advertising in future. Ad networks typically use cookies and similar technologies to measure and target ads. We will update this policy, and describe the specific network and your opt-out options, before any advertising appears on the site.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links, described in full on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Here is what matters for your privacy: an affiliate link is an ordinary link. We do not track you when you click it and we receive no personal information about you from it. What we may receive is an anonymous report that a purchase or quote request originated from this site.
The company you land on is a separate business. Once you leave this site, that company’s own privacy policy governs what it collects, including any cookies its affiliate network sets to attribute the referral. We have no control over and no access to that data. Read their policy before giving them your details.
The contact form
There is one form on this site, on our Contact page. It asks for your name, your email address and your message. The first two are required so that we can reply to you; the message field is optional.
Submissions are not stored on this website. The form emails your message to us and keeps no copy in the site’s database. There is no archive of form submissions here to be searched, exported, sold or breached, because one is never created.
We have also switched off the recording of the sender’s IP address and browser user-agent string, so neither is captured alongside your message.
The form uses no CAPTCHA and no third-party anti-spam service. Your submission is not passed to Google, Cloudflare or anyone else on its way to us — it goes from your browser to this site’s server and straight into our email.
Once it arrives, your message sits in our inbox and is covered by the section below.
If you email us
When you write to us, we receive your email address, your message and whatever you choose to include in it. We use it to reply to you and, where you have sent a correction, to check and fix the page.
Our email is hosted by Google, so your message is stored on Google’s systems under their terms. We keep correspondence only as long as it is useful — typically to resolve your query and to keep a record of factual corrections — and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Please do not send us sensitive personal information. We do not need your policy numbers, licence application details, financial information or government identifiers, and we would rather you did not send them.
Links to other websites
We link heavily to state licensing boards, statutes and other outside sites, because that is how this site works. Those are not under our control, and this policy does not apply to them.
How we use and share information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with anyone for advertising, and we do not trade or rent it.
The only parties who handle any data connected with your visit are the service providers who make the site work: our web hosting company, which stores the site and keeps the server logs described above, and Google, which hosts our email. They act on our behalf and under their own privacy commitments.
We may disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the security of the site.
Security
The site is served entirely over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and our server is encrypted. Since we hold no visitor database, there is no store of personal information here to be breached. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is aimed at people running or working in construction businesses. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
This site stores no visitor database and keeps no copy of form submissions, so in most cases the only personal information we hold is correspondence you have chosen to send us, sitting in our email. We can give you a copy of that, or delete it, on request.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you rights to know what personal information is collected, to have it deleted, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define those terms, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction and objection. Our legal basis for keeping server logs is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site; our basis for handling email is your decision to contact us.
To exercise any of these rights, or to ask what we hold, write to bondedtrades@gmail.com. We will respond within the time the applicable law allows.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If we begin collecting something we do not collect today — analytics, advertising, or anything else — we will say so here before it starts, not afterwards.
